Stress in der Fanszene von CSKA Sofia

CSKA Sofia's main ultra group - Ofanziva - stops activity

To bring some context to this decision I'll briefly explain the situation in CSKA. As you probably know the club was relegated to 3rd division, because of debts. A new owner took over who promised to clear the debts. This man, Ganchev, is also the owner of Litex Lovech - a club that you probably know, because it plays almost every year in the European competitions. This is(or maybe better - was) a modern football club, created in the last 20 years and named after Ganchev's company - Litex. Last summer before his promises to clear the debts, Ganchev tried to rename Litex to CSKA and move it to Sofia along with all the players, staff etc. This failed because of fans' opposition and also of course because this was illegal due to the Football Union rules. The year in 3rd League was very successful for the authentic CSKA Sofia - we won the league and we also won the Cup. The first 3rd League team to do it. But now Ganchev decided again that the debts are too big to clear - and he is again going to rename Litex to CSKA. This time the Football Union seems to be helping him - they changed the rules so this "renaming" can now be legal. Unfortunately the majority of the groups and fan clubs from Sector G also are supporting Ganchev now and his idea to rename Litex Lovech to CSKA Sofia. And it's not only Litex, Ganchev also bought a small club because of its youth academy - Chavdar Etropole. So this "thing" created from Litex and Chavdar is going to be called CSKA now. The groups that support this are doing it mainly because they see no other alternative for CSKA existence. The only man at the moment who has stated that he can help clear the debts is Bozhkov - an ex-owner until 2006, but his rule ended with a conflict with the fans. So some groups don't want him too.

So the main ultra group Ofanziva decided to stop activity for an undefined period of time. Even if the authentic club by a miracle survives, the situation in Sector G currently does not allow for the group to continue to function.
